*Menimum Educational Qualification :Matriculation with 50% marks and its equivalent or Higher Education.Possession of degree/diploma/certificate in concerned discipline from Government recognized Institute.Experience in the field and performance given on AIR/Doordarshan etc.Prizes won at National Level.
*Age Limit and Relaxation:Candidates age limit should be between18 to 30 years age will reckoned on 01.01.2015Upper age relaxation of 05 years for SC/ST candidates, 03 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for Physically Challenged Person
EXAMINATION FEE:The examination fee to be paid through Indian Postal Order will be RS.100/- (Rupees One hundred) only. Date of issue of Indian Postal Order should not before the date of issue of this Employment Notice.(i) All Women Candidates, SC & ST, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with 40% or above Disabilities, candidate of Minorities and Economically Backward Class are fully exempted from examination fees.(ii) Economically Backward Class candidates, whose family income is less than RS.50,000 per annumare also fully exempted from examination fees. (They have to produce income certificate on letter head in the prescribed format as given in annexure. )Indian Postal Order should be pledged in favour of ‘FA & CAO, East Central Railway’ and payable at Hajipur. Examination fee will not be refundable in any circumstance.
MODE OF SELECTION :Eligible Candidates will Be Selected Based on Their Performance In Written Exam and Interview .
The applicants should be neatly typed either in Hindi or English with one Passport size photograph to be pasted duly signed on the application form and two passport size photographs duly signed at back side should be clipped along the application form. Application should be sent to Sr. Personnel Officer /Recruitment., East Central Railway, Head Quarter Office, Hajipur, Distt.-Vaishali (Bihar) PIN- 844101 so as to reach this office on above mentioned date by ordinary post or to be dropped in the application box provided for the purpose in above office up to 18.00 Hrs. on or before the date mentioned above. No receipt at the counter will be given.
All the candidates should indicate clearly “Application against Cultural Quota”, Employment Notice No. ECR/HRD/Rectt/Cultural Quota/2014-15 & Community on the top of the envelope.
No application will be accepted after the closing date in any circumstance, neither any enclosure received separately after the receipt of application will be connected there with.
Enclosures: The following enclosures should be properly attached with the application :
(a) Indian Postal Order of Rs. 100/- (Rs. One hundred) only in favour of ‘FA&CAO, East Central Railway, and payable at Hajipur’.
(b) Necessary proof for claiming fees exemptions.
(c) Self attested Xerox Copies of certificates in support of age, educational qualification and participation certificate in Cultural Activities for their eligibility as mentioned above.
(d) Self attested Xerox Copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC / ST candidates, For OBC candidates, current non-creamy layer certificate of current year (for Central Government Service) issued by the competent authority should be enclosed.
(e) Three similar recent passport size photographs duly signed. One of them, should be pasted on the application and two photographs are to be attached with the application.

Prior to 1996-97, Indian Railway consisted of nine Zones. On 16.06.96, Ministry of Railways decided to setup six new Zones to be carved out of the existing network of Indian Railway by reorganization of the existing zones. East Central Railway with its Headquarters at Hajipur in Bihar is one of these six new zones.East Central Railway was inaugurated on 08.09.96 and an Officer on Special Duty of the rank of General Manager was posted.Construction of temporary Zonal Office Building for E. C. Railway covering 3100 sqm. area was completed in June, 97 and core group of Officers and staff posted. E. C. Railway started functioning by looking after some of the activities of Sonpur and Samastipur Division.Though the Zone was first set up on September 8, 1996 with Headquarters at Hajipur, Bihar, it became operational on 1st October, 2002. East Central Railway was carved out of Eastern and North Eastern Railway consisting of the divisions namely Dhanbad, Danapur, Mughalsarai from Eastern Railways and Sonepur and Samastipur out of North Eastern Railway. The last eleven years of its existence has been full of challenges and every obstacle was dealt in a dedicated manner despite constraints of work force and infrastructure.ECR, has a vast network of 5230 track kilometer and 3624 route kilometers encompassing the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradhesh. Out of 5230 track km, 4267.89 km have been electrified.Hajipur is the district Headquarters of Vaishali district and is located at approximately 25 kms by road and 200 kms away by rail route from Patna (Capital of Bihar).
